The details
This oil comes from the pulp of the buriti palm fruit. It's made mostly of oleic acid (~65-90%) with palmitic acid as the second biggest component, then some carotenoids and vitamin E. This is why it's often marketed as an antioxidant-rich and moisturizing oil. Because it's dominated by oleic acid, this ingredient may not be fungal acne safe as the Malassezia yeast has been shown to feed on it.
